Utah County Special Enforcement and Major Crimes arrest
Over the past few week's detectives with the Utah County Special Enforcement Team and Utah County Major Crimes have been investigating a drug trafficking organization selling methamphetamine and heroin in the Utah County area.
On 8/17 and 8/18/26 several search warrants were executed in Orem, Springville, and Payson. As a result of those search warrants, approximately 653 grams of heroin and 324 grams of methamphetamine was seized. Detectives know from their training, experience, and speaking to drug users that a typical heroin or methamphetamine does is approximately .1 grams. 653 grams of heroin would equate to approximately 6530 individual doses and 324 grams of methamphetamine would equate to approximately 3240 individual doses. Detectives also seized $5787 in suspected drug proceeds.
Six arrests were made and one of the suspects arrested was determined to be unlawfully in the United States.
It appears the Utah County distribution portion of the organization has been disrupted.
