K9 Presentations

The Utah County Sheriff's Office K9 Team includes a Sergeant and eight deputy handlers who provide around-the-clock support to Patrol, Investigations, Search and Rescue, and Corrections. The team has served the county and surrounding areas for more than 20 years, offering a vital resource to law enforcement agencies across Utah County.

Our K9 team enjoys sharing their work with the community through educational presentations for schools, scout groups, and other organizations. Demonstrations can highlight obedience, drug detection, apprehension, or a combination of all three. Most presentations last about 45 minutes, though timing can be adjusted to fit your group's needs.

Because of the high demand for demonstrations and the team's training and patrol schedules, we cannot accommodate every request. To improve your chances:

  • Check with your local police department first, as many cities in Utah County have their own K9 units.1
  • Combine smaller groups into one larger audience (for example, all fourth-grade classes or multiple scout packs). We prioritize presentations for groups of 100 or more participants.

If your city does not have a K9 program or is unable to provide a presentation, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
