Sheriff Sales
A Sheriff Sale is done by order of the court, with a Writ of Execution to sell property seized to pay debts owed to a creditor. The Sheriff's Office serves the signed Writ, seizes the property, then holds an auction to sell the property.
The proceeds go first to cover the cost of the sale, then to cover the creditor, and if there is any remaining money it is given to the debtor.
The Sheriff is allowed by law to collect fees for this action. For a cost associated with this action please refer to the Fees Section or contact the Utah County Civil Office at 801-851-4035.
