Utah County Sheriff's Office

Emergency Services Bureau

The Emergency Services Bureau exists to enhance safety and preparedness in Utah County through strong leadership, collaboration, and meaningful partnerships. Our mission is founded in public service. Our goal is to protect lives and property by effectively preparing for, preventing, responding to, and recovering from all disasters, threats, hazards, and emergencies.

The Utah County Sheriff's Office has a well trained work force comprised of sworn personnel, civilians and volunteers. The Emergency Services Bureau has responsibility for the Emergency Management, Emergency Communications, Search and Rescue, Metro Bomb Squad, and Aviation Support.

The Emergency Services Bureau relies on many dedicated volunteers to accomplish many of our goals and objectives. We have four volunteer organizations with over 200+ volunteers that support the Sheriff’s Office. They consist of Search and Rescue, Emergency Communication and Support Team (ECS), Sheriff’s Mounted Posse, and the Timpanogos Emergency Response TEAM (TERT). These volunteers dedicate thousands of hours and donate thousands of dollars of their own money each year to the service of the citizens and visitors of our County.

We are also indebted to many selfless businesses that have helped us obtain the necessary equipment that is needed to serve our diverse area. Please contact us if you like to help financially or just want to share some ideas on how we can improve. Below are a few links that can help you and your family prepare yourselves for a variety of situations. Individual responsibility for self preparedness is one of our community’s greatest strengths in time of disaster. We hope you enjoy learning how to be prepared and challenge you to help your neighbors, family and friends do the same.
