Off Duty Management


In order to efficiently respond to requests and manage the employment of off-duty deputy's, the Utah County Sheriff's Office has partnered with Off Duty Management to provide services related to hiring off-duty deputies effective March 21, 2022.

You may request to hire off-duty deputies through the Off Duty Mangement web-based service, OfficerTRAK, or calling the toll-free number below.

Off Duty Management provides the following to the vendor:

  • Online access to information through the OfficerTRAK software including:
    • Job-status
    • Deputy attendance
    • Field notes and media files
    • Post orders and instructions
    • Past and future shift information
  • Full liability coverage for the vendor, the agency, and the deputy
  • 24/7 vendor service
  • Dedicated point of contact for scheduling and invoicing
  • Deputy payroll

Prohibited Off-Duty Employment

Employees shall not engage in off-duty employment that involves any of the following:

  • Interferes with an employee's efficiency performance.
  • Conflicts with the interests of the Department or Utah County.
  • Gives reason for criticism or suspicion of conflicting interests or duties.
  • Any other reason in Utah Human Resource Rule VII C.

2-hour minimum per request.
All requests that require a vehicle will be charged an additional 1 hour for drive time per deputy.

*Supervisor Rates: Any event requiring more than three deputites to work must include a supervisor in addition to the required deputites. In this case, the event holder will be charged an additional fee of $85 per hour for the supervisor's presence at the event.

*Holiday Rates will apply for the following days: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, MLK Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

**Emergency Rates: 72 hours prior to shift start required for requests

Cancellation Policy: Once an assignment has been approved and scheduled, customer cancelling or reducing an assignment shall pay the full ODM administrative fees for the first 24 hours of the original assignment. Customer cancelling or reducing an assignment within 48 hours of the start of the assignment shall pay the greater of deputy hours worked or the agency 2 hour minimum plus ODM administrative fees for the first 24 hours of the original assignment and Client shall hold each other harmless in the event that insufficient deputites sign up for an assignment.
