Divisions
Administration
The Administrative Services Division (ASD) is a unique entity as it provides support for all divisions within the Utah County Sheriff’s Office while simultaneously serving the citizens of Utah County through the specialized functions and programs it offers. The ASD has stewardship over Police Conduct, Department wide Training, Firearms, Records, and the RadKids program. Employees in the ASD are committed to excellence as they are acutely aware of the important responsibilities they perform which directly affect the quality of life that our citizens experience and the ability of Sheriff’s Office personnel to effectively and competently perform their jobs.
Enforcement
The Enforcement Division is responsible for the delivery of those services traditionally associated with police operations. It is composed of two bureaus responsible for all Patrol, Investigations, and other specialized duties. The Division provides service to the unincorporated areas of the county as well as multiple recreation and canyon areas. The Division also serves seven municipalities that contract with the Sheriff’s Office for their law enforcement services.
The Enforcement Division's purpose is to serve and protect the citizens of Utah County by responsibly enforcing the laws. Deputies receive extensive training, not only in being extremely competent in police skills, but also in conducting themselves in a professional manner that fosters a good harmonious relationship with the community. We understand that to be truly effective public servants we must have the help and cooperation from citizens who know their community and neighborhoods better than anyone. By earning the citizens trust, we can work together in a corroborative effort that will allow all of us to live in a safer, more peaceful, community.
Corrections
The Sheriff of Utah County is responsible for protecting the citizens of Utah County by providing a secure holding facility for persons legally confined in the county. The Utah County Jail will protect the public by providing a secure, humane environment for the incarceration of those persons accused or convicted of violating the law. The management philosophy of the Sheriff and his staff is based upon the following assumptions:
- Incarceration is punishment, in and of itself.
- All inmates and staff will be held accountable for their actions.
- The opportunity for offender reintegration into society is founded in humane treatment and services.
The primary goal of the Corrections Facility is to provide inmates the opportunity to participate in and benefit from educational, treatment and rehabilitative programs. These programs are intended to enable inmates to re-enter the community better prepared to deal with their responsibilities as a contributing community member.
Support Services
The Support Services Division consists of four distinct bureaus, the Judicial - Courts Bureau, The Emergency Services Bureau, the Judicial Support Bureau, and the Wild Land Fire Bureau. Each Bureau is unique and has very separate and special duties which support the Sheriff’s Office and serve the citizens of Utah County.
