How to obtain a copy of a Utah County Sheriff’s Office Accident Report/DI-9

To obtain a copy of a Utah County Sheriff’s Office Accident Report/DI-9, a written request for the report must be submitted along with a copy of the requestor’s photo identification and the required fee.

A written request must be submitted to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Records Division. The written request may be in letter format, or on the GRAMA Request form. Details regarding the items requested must be as specific as possible, i.e. traffic accident report, witness statements, photos, etc.

GRAMA requests allow a ten day grace period to provide a copy of the report and each report is handled on an individual basis according to the incident/crime. There are some reports that may be released at the time the request is made. However, most reports will require the approval of the Utah County Attorney’s Office which may take anywhere from ten days to three weeks to obtain approval. Once approval is obtained, you will be notified and the report will be released as specified. A $5.00 fee will be charged for each report. A $5.00 fee will also be charged for each photo CD.
